This game is still in development. Play it for free and report bugs so we can improve it. This is the seventh major update of this game, the first one was in early May 2026.

GeoSim — Rule the World from Your Browser

GeoSim is a free geopolitical grand strategy simulator that puts you in command of any nation on Earth. No installation required — just open, pick your country, and reshape history.

BUILD YOUR NATION

Start by choosing any real country — from the United States to Somalia, Saudi Arabia to Iceland. Every nation has its own GDP, population, military strength, stability, debt, and geographic provinces. Grow your economy through natural GDP growth, commodity trading, foreign investment, and smart fiscal policy. Raise your citizens' standard of living — the game tracks GDP per capita in real time, and pushing it toward the $250K ceiling requires sustained investment and peace. Manage your treasury, borrow aggressively to fund wars, and watch your debt-to-GDP ratio as creditors grow nervous.

DIPLOMACY & ALLIANCES

The world is full of relationships to build and destroy. Set bilateral scores with every nation, forge formal alliances, issue ultimatums, impose sanctions, and open trade agreements. Join or get expelled from the world's real power blocs — NATO, CSTO, SCO, the Axis of Resistance, GCC, and the US Alliance Network all operate with full collective defence mechanics. Economic powerhouses like the EU, G7, G20, ASEAN, BRICS+, African Union, Arab League, Commonwealth of Nations, and OPEC+ provide GDP bonuses to members. G7 and G20 membership is dynamic — your rank on the world GDP leaderboard determines whether you sit at the top table.

THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL

Every war triggers an emergency session of the UN Security Council. The five permanent members — USA, Russia, China, UK, France — each vote based on their real bilateral relationships. A single veto blocks action. Three FOR votes authorise military intervention, bringing P5 nations into the conflict. Distinguish yourself by joining UN-mandated defences to earn the title of Upholder of International Justice and permanent global reputation bonuses.

WAR

Declare war on any country, or find yourself drawn in through alliance commitments. Ground assaults commit your full army — casualties are calculated by GDP ratio, meaning wealthier militaries kill at a proportional advantage. Provinces fall when armies are wiped. Missile strikes, air campaigns, and targeted equipment strikes let you degrade enemy capabilities before ground engagement. Your Military Advisor analyses enemy arsenals and proposes prioritised strike packages with one-click execution. Launch 50-wave mass strikes against all enemies simultaneously when you're fighting dozens of nations at once. Province capture requires survivors — a dead army holds no ground.

WORLD WAR III

Alliance chains can cascade a local conflict into a global conflagration involving 80+ nations within two turns. The game tracks every side, shows you exactly how the coalitions formed, and renders a live war intelligence briefing with combined GDP, soldiers, provinces, and stability for each bloc. Before any war declaration, the game simulates the full cascade and warns you if you're about to trigger World War III.

COVERT OPERATIONS

Conduct drone strikes, assassinations, car bombs, infrastructure sabotage, border incidents, and disinformation campaigns against any country. Get caught and face immediate war declarations. Frame a third party and watch two other nations go to war while your hands stay clean.

ROGUE STATES & LEBENSRAUM

Unstable major countries can fall to military coups, installing expansionist dictators with ideologies ranging from Fascist State to Pan-African Empire. These rogue states pursue aggressive lebensraum campaigns, declaring war on neighbours every 1–2 turns and building empires through annexation. Liberate occupied nations to earn the title Liberator of Occupied Nations and permanent alliances with the freed people.

ECONOMICS & COMMODITIES

Trade oil, natural gas, grain, electricity, fresh water, copper, gold, silver, rare earth elements, and ammunition on the global market. Control commodity production, manipulate prices, and embargo enemies. Countries go to war over resource access. Delegate economic management to your Ministry of Finance, setting GDP per capita targets up to $250K that the AI maintains automatically.

POPULATION & DEMOGRAPHICS

Import citizens, accept refugees, and build diaspora communities. Your country panel tracks every ethnic group and their percentage of your population. Annex a neighbour and their people become an occupied community inside your borders — with resistance movements to manage.

NUCLEAR DETERRENCE

Build a nuclear arsenal and watch the world treat you differently. Face down existential defeat and your enemies receive a private diplomatic cable: Our nuclear forces are at DEFCON 1. End this war now or we will authorise the use of strategic weapons. Accept their surrender terms and receive reparations. Ignore the warning and face incoming warheads.

SHARIA & IDEOLOGY

Adopt 100% Sharia Law and face a multi-year international escalation — condemnations, diplomatic isolation, ultimatums, and eventual military coalitions from Western and non-Islamic powers. Every ideological choice shapes your bilateral relationships.

MEDIATED PEACE

When wars exhaust both sides, step in as mediator between any two AI nations. Set terms — reparations, territorial transfers, prisoner exchanges — and impose a settlement. The outcome is correctly recorded as a victory, defeat, or negotiated settlement in the permanent war history.

WAR HISTORY

Every conflict is permanently recorded — sides, duration, casualties, territories taken, outcome. Coalition wars show which alliances formed which side and how. Send direct aid to any belligerent from the war history card: inject treasury, boost GDP, or deploy soldiers directly to the front line.

LIVING WORLD

The world simulates independently — 195 countries grow economies, fight wars, form alliances, experience coups, and pursue their own foreign policies every turn. The news ticker summarises global events with real publication names. Editorials from rotating columnists analyse your nation's decisions. A rich event log captures every assassination, solidarity declaration, UN resolution, capitulation, and nuclear ultimatum in real time.

SAVE ANYWHERE. PLAY FREE.

Save and load games at any point. No account required. Runs entirely in your browser. Start as Somalia with $8B GDP and build an empire, or begin as the United States and watch the world react to every move you make.

I'd really like to be able to join existing alliances. By the way is there anywhere else you could be contacted?

Thanks for the suggestion, it is a great idea. The game file has just been updated:

The 🤝 Join/Leave Alliance button now appears in your country panel next to "View all alliances". Click it to see:

  • All 6 military alliances (NATO, CSTO, SCO, Axis of Resistance, GCC, US Alliance Network)
  • Whether you meet requirements (ideology, stability, bilateral relations)
  • Why you're blocked if not eligible
  • An Apply button if eligible → members vote immediately based on their actual bilateral relations with you
  • Leave button if already a member (costs -20 relations with all members)
  • 3-turn cooldown after rejection

P.S. for now you can only contact us on this page, we check it regularly and try to implement great ideas ASAP. Any reason you want to contact through other means?

I just prefer the casualness of a "chat" over "posts", or "comments" is all.

Also could we get the ability to join non-military alliances too? And then I think the best additions to the game would be things that can only be done as certain countries, to improve replayability. Either arbitrary achievements, or country formations, or both. For achievements you could look to paradox games' achievements for inspiration. For country formations, I think this page works well: List of proposed state mergers - Wikipedia. In general I think deeper diplomacy with a specific other country through a dedicated window would be good. Also probably landlocked countries shouldn't be able to go to war with countries they don't border?

Sounds good, the game is still 2 weeks old and certainly not finished, a tutorial is on the todo list. We have made the game available so people can tell us what they think of it, share some bugs you encountered, and you can also request some features you think are missing from the game, so we can add it.
